Making Space: Expanding Pedagogies, Practices, & Partnerships Dates: February 6-8, 2025 Location: Callaway Resort & Gardens, Pine Mountain, GA Making Space: Expanding Pedagogies, Practices, & PartnershipsWe are teaching, learning, and living in a paradoxical time. While technology expands our access to information, expression, and each other, it can also allow individuals to self-isolate in their own social, emotional, and intellectual silos. Additionally, while English/Language Arts scholarship promotes the importance of authentic learning, multimodality, and an expanded literary canon, many classrooms are restricted by standardized, politicized, and sanitized curricula and practices. In light of the current tensions around the practice of English Education, this year's GCTE Conference will investigate practices and pedagogies aimed at making space for innovation and diverse ideas, honoring individuality and lived experiences, and growing meaningful communities through new partnerships.
